Fairyhouse on Tuesday April 12th
Running brothers

History was made at Fairyhouse on Tuesday April 12th when, for the first time ever, three sets of brothers represented our school at an athletics event. The occasion was the Meath Primary Schools' Cross Country competition and 36 athletes in total togged out on the day for Bunscoil Buachaillí Réalt na Mara.

Congratulations to Daniel and Noah who were the recipients of individual medals and also to the teams representing 2nd class and 4th class who brought home gold in their team events. The athletes from 3rd class received silver medals.

All 36 athletes put in a tremendous effort under very muddy conditions. Thank you to the parents who came along to support us at the event.

Drogheda & District School's Cross Country Championship.

It was a clean sweep for the athletes of Réalt na Mara at our first athletics event of this school year. We travelled to St. Joseph's Secondary School in Drogheda to compete in the 28th annual Drogheda & District School's Cross Country championship.

Three of the 6th class boys came home in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the race, a feat which was never before achieved by Réalt na Mara runners! They were helped in no small way by their teammates and this culminated in our school being awarded gold medals for the best team.

Well done to all twelve athletes and we will now start to prepare for our next cross country race which will take place in Bellewstown on November 25th.
